Rage Beat Force to Advance to NEFL Championship
The Lake Superior Rage played the Fox Valley Force Saturday at Duluth East High School, and came out with the victory sending them to the organizations first ever NEFL Championship game.
The Rage defense was led by linebacker John Davis, had 10 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 interception against the league's most prolific passing offense in the Force. The Rage offense got off to a slow start Saturday, but came alive in the second half following the Force offense giving up a safety, and giving the Rage offense the ball back.
The Rage, Down 7-2 at that point, drove the length of the field, and finished the drive with a touchdown by Chris Henagin. The Rage defense answered again, and forced the Force to punt, giving the ball back to the offense. The Rage scored again on a TD pass from Keldric Stokes to Dekeldric Felton, Putting the Rage up 15-7.
After the defense stopped the Force again, the Rage scored its final touchdown, and went up 22-7. The Force may a try to make the game close, and put one more score on the board against the Rage, but on the final drive of the game, the Force came up short, and lost their opportunity to punch their ticket to the dance. Rage won 22-13.
This weekend, the Rage look to take their streak on the road, and play the defending National Champion St. Paul Pioneers. Kickoff is at 7pm on Saturday, August 10th at Concordia University in St. Paul.
